Below: Renovated remote village school.
This renovation was supported by the Chattanooga Nepali Association and Nickels for Nepal
About 10 years before a group of friends visited a school in Nuwakot and found that there were rooms but no desks and benches, there was no toilet and water to drink for the children, and they have no dress,no books and copies. We decided to help the children and now in 10 years, the school has enough desks and benches, the students have dress and shoes, new books to read and copies to write, two of them arestudying at Kavya school in Kathmandu in full scholarship.
They have computer and a small library, resources for teachers. with the great support from Nickels for Nepal, www.nickelsfornepal.org and Kavya school jointly doing this work. Now I am very happy andexcited to know that Christine Hockert, the chairperson of Nickels For Nepal have collected the fund for the Toilets or sanitation for this school. I would like to thank my friends who have supported thismission and would like to welcome more friends to join hands. Thank you Chris and your team. We are going to build toilets there soon.
